Programs/Services We Offer

Adult Advocacy
Living will or just being diagnosed with a mental health issue is often intimidating. Navigating the social services system to get the treatment you need can be confusing. We are here to help! Our adult advocates provide individualized case advocacy for adults within the community, as well as residents of Wernersville State Hospital.

Parent/Child Advocacy
Having a child with special needs is often overwhelming. Making sure they have the services that match their individual needs is a daunting task. Our parent/child advocates provide case advocacy for children in the special education and mental health systems throughout Berks County. We strive to actively educate parents on the rights and needs of their children to help them become effective advocates.


Support Group Central

The Mental Health Association of Reading & Berks County is leading the way in distributing accurate, up-to-date information about the area's active support groups. We have also started a group learning opportunity to provide ongoing support and guidance to the leaders of both newly developing and established groups.


Information & Referral:


We can provide information to you on mental health, mental illnesses, effective treatments, legal rights, insurance and local service options, education law, and related topics. Call, or email, today and we would be happy to provide you or your organization with brochures, pamphlets, articles, and/or other print materials to suit your needs.

Group Education Opportunities:

Do you have a support group or organization that serves parents of special needs children or people who are affected by mental health issues?
 

We offer group training and information packets that can help. Call or us to find out if we can fulfill your needs.


Consumer/Family Satisfaction Team:


Our team routinely interviews mental health consumers, individuals in recovery, and families of children to assure satisfaction with government-funded mental health and/or drug and alcohol services.
